Earth Day Network is a proud partner of the National Environmental Education Foundation, and together we invite you to celebrate National Environmental Education Week 2010, from April 11 – 17, 2010. Earth Day Network has contributed a unique curricular unit on this year’s theme - Be Water and Energy Wise. Join national EE Week efforts, promote environmental learning, and gain national exposure at EEWeek.org/register.

Earth Day Network staff participated in an EE Week webinar on March 31, 2010, titled Teaching the Water-Energy Connection, to discuss water and energy conservation projects taking place in our Educators’ Network, as well as Earth Day Network lesson plans on the water-energy connection. Watch the video (1 hour 34 minutes) below or download and watch the webinar recording (wmv). More information and access to materials referenced during the webinar may be found at http://www.eeweek.org/webinars/water_energy.

See what U.S. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has to say about EE Week 2010!

Please also visit www.EEWeek.org for access to a wide variety of FREE environmental education resources, including standards-based water-themed lesson plans developed by Earth Day Network for EE Week 2009 – Be Water Wise! These lesson plans incorporate art, math, science and social studies skills to help students understand issues including water conservation, water scarcity, global access to water, the connection between water and climate change and other important topics.
